Beacon Analyst
Position Overview:
The Beacon Analyst is responsible for the implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic Beacon Oncology module within a healthcare organization. This role involves analyzing workflows, configuring system functionality, troubleshooting issues, and providing end-user training to ensure seamless integration of Epic Beacon with clinical and operational processes.
- Travel: 25% onsite (1 week each month)
Key Responsibilities:
System Configuration & Maintenance:
Configure and maintain the Epic Beacon module to align with clinical oncology workflows.
Develop, test, and implement protocols, orders, and treatment plans within Beacon.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, including NCCN guidelines, chemotherapy regimens, and dosing calculations.
Workflow Optimization & Analysis:
Assess and optimize oncology treatment workflows to enhance efficiency and patient safety.
Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, nurses, and IT teams to align system functionality with clinical needs.
Conduct gap analyses and recommend process improvements for better system utilization.
Troubleshooting & System Upgrades:
Investigate system issues, data discrepancies, and user-reported problems, implementing timely resolutions.
Support Epic system upgrades, patches, and new releases, ensuring continued system functionality.
Perform testing and validation of new features before deployment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Experience working in oncology, pharmacy, or healthcare IT environments is preferred.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
Strong knowledge of Epic Beacon module, oncology workflows, and clinical protocols.
Experience with data analysis, report building, and system troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Epic Reporting Workbench, Clarity, and other Epic reporting tools is a plus.
Certifications:
Epic Beacon Certification required
Epic Clarity Reporting (a plus)
Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification (a plus)
