Epic Testing/Cutover Project Manager
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of healthcare IT project management experience, with specific experience in Epic implementations or upgrades
- Experience managing testing for multiple full scale Epic implementations
Proven experience managing testing and/or cutover workstreams
Strong understanding of Epic modules and EHR testing methodologies
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Preferred:
Epic certification in Project Management or applicable Epic applications (e.g., Resolute, Ambulatory, Inpatient)
Experience with technical cutovers, data conversion, and interface testing
PMP or similar project management certification
Key Responsibilities:
Testing Management:
Develop and manage the comprehensive testing strategy and schedule, including:
Unit Testing
Integrated Testing (IT)
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Regression Testing
Performance/Load Testing
Coordinate with Epic application analysts, technical teams, and operational SMEs to define test scenarios, scripts, and acceptance criteria.
Track testing progress, manage defect resolution, and ensure timely completion of all testing phases.
Facilitate daily stand-ups and testing checkpoint meetings; escalate risks and blockers.
Cutover Planning & Execution:
Develop and manage the cutover playbook and detailed cutover timeline.
Coordinate cutover activities across technical, clinical, and operational teams.
Ensure all go-live readiness criteria are met, including data conversions, interface activations, and system validations.
Lead cutover command center operations, including coordination, issue triage, and real-time decision-making.
Collaborate with change management and training teams to ensure end-users are informed and ready.
Communication & Reporting:
Maintain and distribute status reports, dashboards, and risk logs for leadership and stakeholders.
Provide clear documentation of testing outcomes, cutover actions, and post-go-live support needs.
Serve as the central point of contact for all testing and cutover activities.
