New Epic Implementation
The Epic Clinical Project Manager will lead, oversee, and manage clinical projects related to Epic
Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. This role involves coordinating with clinical teams, IT
professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects
related to Epic systems within healthcare organizations. The project manager will also ensure that
projects align with organizational goals, budgets, and timelines while maintaining compliance with
clinical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Epic clinical projects, ensuring they meet
clinical workflows, objectives, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with clinicians, IT teams, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, design
workflows, and drive project success.
Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring the project stays on track and
within scope.
Oversee Epic system upgrades, enhancements, and optimization projects within the clinical
environment.
Coordinate end-user training, system testing, and validation to ensure the Epic EHR system
meets the needs of the clinical staff.
Identify and mitigate project risks, and implement contingency plans as needed.
Develop project documentation, including project charters, status reports, and post-project
evaluations.
Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and facilitating
communication between cross-functional teams.
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and other patient safety
standards.
Continuously review and improve project management processes to enhance project delivery.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, IT, business, or a related field. A
Master’s degree is preferred.
Certification: Epic certification (in specific modules such as EpicCare Ambulatory, Inpatient, or
other relevant modules) is highly preferred.
Experience:
o Minimum of 5 years of experience managing projects in a healthcare environment,
specifically Epic-related projects.
o Proven experience leading Epic EHR implementations, upgrades, or optimizations in
clinical settings.
o Experience working with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical staff, and
administrators.
Skills:
o Strong understanding of Epic clinical modules, workflows, and healthcare systems.
o Exceptional project management skills, with proficiency in tools such as Microsoft
Project, Jira, or similar platforms.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clinical and technical
teams.
o Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities.
Preferred Skills:
Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
Experience with change management in a clinical setting.
